Hyena Muzik is a production company. This idea was created from our famous saying, "making something out of nothing". ​ It started with DJ SHAREHL's deejay mixes. On every released mix cd, he would use the "laughing hyena sound" in between songs, to distinguish his mix from other deejays, branding his original creation.  The brown spotted African Hyena is often misunderstood as SAVAGE SCAVENGERS, but really, they’re organized PREDATORS that strategically hunt. They take what’s available, flip it, feed the young and survive. That’s the mindset this company was created on. 
 
Hyena Muzik started in 1998, at a time when respect was not given , it had to be earned. The name Hyena represents the ability to see value where others don’t. To take broken pieces, overlooked sounds, and unfinished ideas, and turn them into music that hits. No waiting for perfect conditions, just working with what’s there. This brand is built on work ethic, consistency, showing up, and learning as you go. Putting time in, and pushing through till the task is completed. Our sound comes from experience, not current trends. We're all rooted in hip-hop,  and shaped by life.
